it switches off automatically after few seconds !!!

Should I take it back to the retailer ?
Light only last few seconds ( 4 - 5 ) and you have to switch on again every 4 _ 5 seconds.
( the 3 modes )
Nothing said on the package; hence I assume that is not normal !!!
