I have energizer Torch which has 2.5V AA rechargeable NiMH batteries, can these AA batteries used for them as a replacement option.

I've tried my level best to find 2.5V batteries in markets & online but couldn't find any of them so please help I have two Energizer Torches both have 2.5V NiMH batteries, where should I get them or whats the alternative.
2.5V AA NiMH battery doesn't exist, if that Torch requires a single cell. (At least on paper, and I've never heard such battery and Torch?)
If not, you may use two 1.2V NiMH cells in series to get 2.4V.
